CPM movements always have an emphasis on movement. If you have been following my blog over the past 16 months, you have hopefully seen a high emphasis on equipping and releasing new believers and existing believers to make disciples, plant churches and mobilize missionaries. We do this by trying to instill in disciples that they are responsible to take on that ‘core missionary task’ to which Jesus left each of us as followers accountable. You have seen me write and speak often about being an Ambassador for Christ. This is the focus of much of the daily work here in S. Florida. From harvest time where we are going out in the community and sharing the gospel to our discipleship and church gatherings throughout the week in homes, halfway houses, coffee shops, parks, you name it, we are being intentional to help believers grab hold of their identity as disciple makers. We train in the areas of sharing our faith; of leading discipleship; of gathering as church; and in developing leaders who know how to train others. Trainers training trainers. Multiplication and expansion is one of our key values. It has always been about people. People encountering Jesus and people learning how to help others to do the same until there is NoPlaceLeft. It is not a tag line. It is our commission. All of us. The reason I share so many pictures in my blog is because it is about the people. God is calling us out into the harvest and reminding us that we have been given the authority to make those disciples, baptize them in Jesus’ name and to teach them to observe. To observe is more than to know. It is to obey. And it is to this obedience that God has called us. It is through this obedience that the world will be reached. It will take all of us doing our part in our families, workplaces, neighborhoods, city, nation and to those over 3,000 Unreached People Groups around the world. So let me introduce you to some of that army of believers that are engaging this work.
Johnnie who knows that God is calling Him to be that Ambassador. He goes out with me into the harvest constantly and helps lead in the recovery sector as well as disciple those who are struggling to overcome the streets. Chad, a school teacher, who is getting equipped along with his wife Alyssa to share the gospel and open up their lives to disciple others. This group of students from Palm Beach Atlantic University who we trained in how to have gospel conversations and then took it overseas to Belgium, Albania and Macedonia and taught others to do the same.
Our group in Bryant Park who know their need for Jesus and who meet each week to learn more about Him and how to share this hope with others. Megon, Natasha, and Diane who give of their time to show the love of Jesus through prayer, sharing and getting into the Word with these men and women who struggle for the basics of life but know there is a God who loves them. We train these men and women to share with the others out there who feel that hope is lost.
We gather in homes to disciple others in who God is and how to live a life that brings Him glory. We hear the real struggles of people and grapple with those struggles in an intimate setting looking to the Word for answers. It is messy and sometimes really messy because it is real life and in the trenches.
We see people come to Jesus and we cherish those times when those we are discipling begin to see that they are to disciple others as well. We baptize new believers and show the family that they are the ones that God has chosen to lead others to Christ and to begin with them that journey of discipleship. Releasing believers to be who God has called them to be.
Cathy, Stephanie, and Daniel who are being trained and sent out to impact the Spanish speaking community and beyond. God has people out there who feel that stirring in their hearts and souls that there is more for them to do. And they commit their time and energy to do just that.
It is those God moments where God sends you reminders that He is calling people out from all over the world to preach His Word. God wants to move through you and in you and together we can get His Word out. He hasn’t given a plan B. He left us with this commission. He chooses to use ordinary men and women who are called by His name to proclaim it to the nations. I thank God for all of the people who He has allowed me to minister with and to and look forward to being a part in sending even more out into the harvest,
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and continued support for the work. I want to close with some prayer requests:
- Pray for the health of the movement here and around the world. That God would call out even more into His fields.
- Pray for our leadership development here. We are beginning to invest heavily in those who have been trained here locally. We are looking for generational growth in our church discipleship and plants and for catalytic leaders to rise up throughout Florida.
- Pray that many more will come to Christ and commit to Him and His work of reconciliation.
- Pray for the homeless, street and recovery ministries here.
- Pray for the unengaged, unreached people groups (UUPG) around the world and that God would call out laborers into those specific fields.
- Pray for support prayerfully and financially for a ministry budget in addition to my personal living budget here so that I would have funds needed to meet some of the international training requests that I have received and some future doors that He is currently opening.
- Prayer concerning future opportunities for me that will directly impact the work among the unreached and unengaged people groups internationally. That God will show clear direction and timing concerning this.
As always, thank you all for your prayers and support. God is up to some HUGE things here and abroad. If you would be willing to come on as mission support partners, your support is vital to this work.
