harvestWell, it is all coming together well. I have only 35% left to raise in missionary support and then I am off to S. Florida with e3 Partners. I have been so consumed with building my support team that I have not really had much time to fully acknowledge that life is about to become very different. I have been in the ministry for about 23 years but have been doing most of that in a context that I am familiar with.

One of the people that I was sharing with the other day stated that going to S. Florida is like going to another country. In many ways, I believe he is correct. There are so many nations represented there. I will daily be hearing English, Spanish, Creole, Russian and many others. 26.64% of Florida’s population speak a mother language other than English. This means a variety of cultures will be encountered.

One of the first things that I will be required to do as an e3 Church Planting Missionary is to spend the first 30 days in an immersion experience in the field where I am isolated from the other e3 missionaries. During this time, I am to immerse myself in the cultures around me. They ask us to do this so that we can come to experience the differing levels of spiritual brokenness that exist in the area. We also are to engage those cultures as the Spirit leads us in witnessing opportunities.

One of the evangelism methods that we use is prayer knocking in communities as we look for persons of peace. I will be able to do this together with some of the area churches that I will be partnering with. All of this is meant to intentionally get us out in the field which is where the majority of our ministry will take place. Training in churches and with individuals through discipleship is a major part of what I will be doing with e3, but it is training that leads to obedience as we all go out in the harvest together.

As you read through the book of Acts, this type of missionary activity is what you will see happening. It takes place as you learn about your surrounding culture; devise approaches that you will use to start gospel conversations ; equip the new believers to serve in obedience and bring them together as the church to worship and engage others for Christ. This is how the gospel spread so quickly in the early church. It spread through obedient believers. The whole church doing the work of the ministry as they were led and empowered by the Spirit.

If you would be willing to partner with me financially to work towards #NoPlaceLeft that has not heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, please click for my support page. Every amount of monthly support helps me stay on the field full time and available to work with many churches and individuals. My goal is to be on the field sometime in January.
