Today a couple of my friends and I got together and ended up experiencing a time of spontaneous worship. If anyone knows me at all, they know that music is a powerful mode of worship for me.
When I am singing, it is like a release to me. What no-one sees are the times in my home when I am all alone and it is me and God time. Over the years I have accumulated a lot of praise music that speaks to me. When I turn that music up and sing, God and I have some passionate times of worship and praise together. For that moment, time seems to stop and any problems I may have seem to fade away.
We get so wrapped up in the busyness of life and the trials of life that we don’t take the time to stop and experience God. Something as simple as a few Christian brothers getting together and singing God’s praises is more of a definition of church family to me than just about anything else I know.
I do not see worship as something rigidly planned out and scheduled. I see it as a spontaneous moment of awe.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. Psalm 29:2
