You will be remembered for your love and nothing else. Wow! Our pastor today hit that one right on the head. Regardless of the achievements, the trophies, fame, or diplomas that you may acquire over your lifetime, the one thing which people will talk about after you are gone will be the level of your love.
On your death bed what will you ask for? Because that will be what really matters to you. Will it be to see that diploma one last time, or to check out the figures in your bank account, or peer at that trophy you received for some accomplishment. Nope! You won’t be asking for that stuff will you?
You will be asking for family and friends because that is what really matters in life. People matter not things. So if that is the case, then why is so little time spent on people and relationships and so much on things?
My pastor stated it this way, “Don’t give first class allegiance to 2nd class callings.” We can get so busy that we miss out on love and building strong relationships. It is all about relationships.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:3
