fall-of-satanIt seems that God has been trying to get my attention about something today. A number of times, the radio discussion has been about the reality of Satan. A Barna Institute statistic came out recently about what professing Christians thought about the reality of a real being called Satan.

The statistic showed that almost 60% of professing Christians believe that Satan is not a real being, but is a representation of evil.

According to Barna, 58 percent strongly or somewhat agreed with the statement that the Holy Spirit is “a symbol of God’s power or presence but is not a living entity.”

“Hollywood has made evil accessible and tame, making Satan and demons less worrisome than the Bible suggests they really are,” … It’s hard for achievement-driven, self-reliant, independent people to believe that their lives can be impacted by unseen forces.”

One of the best tactics of Satan is to get people to simply not believe in his existence. That way he  and his demons can worm their way into the lives of the unsuspecting individuals. Our postmodern world needs to wake up and realize the danger that is out there. Satan is like a lion waiting to pounce upon his naive prey.

Many are forsaking the orthodox teachings of the Christian faith. Today the reality of the  Holy Spirit and Satan, tomorrow???

Set up road signs;
put up guideposts.
Mark well the path
by which you came.
Come back again, my virgin Israel;
return to your towns here.

Jeremiah 31:21

Scripture teaches that Satan is defeated, but until judgment is executed, he is very busy deceiving God’s creation.

…the prince of this world now stands condemned.John 16:11

  1. Good to see you back posting again, even though I know it will stop next week!

    Great post, bro. Who was it that said “the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn’t exist.” Both inside and outside the church, we live as if the devil isn’t real, Hell isn’t real, sin isn’t real, judgment isn’t real…

    We all need to return to the well-worn path that was laid out before us.

    • Matt,

      Who knows? Maybe I can keep up with blogging. It is kind of therapeutic. Thanks for being my #1 fan or is that my only fan?? Notice I even spiced up the old site a little.
